Phnom
Penh was once a capital city in the 15th century under the monarchy system, but
it was then abandoned in the next century. During the French colonial era, the
city was established as a capital city again in 1866. European architecture
developed and influenced Phnom Penh. Despite the devastating Khmer Rouge
period, the city has remarkably recovered and progressed at an impressive pace
