Takeo province is located in southeastern Cambodia. Known for its wet climate and vast rice fields, the province boasts abundant waterways, including one of Cambodia's largest rivers. With its unique charm and historical significance, Takeo invites travelers to explore the province fully.

Takeo province is often referred to as the cradle of Cambodian civilization, as it was the founding ground of the ancient Funan and Chenla kingdoms. The province is home to numerous significant pre-Angkorian sites constructed between the 5th and 8th centuries. These sites, notably Angkor Borei, have attracted American archaeologists who embarked on research expeditions aimed at uncovering the history, narratives, and artifacts of the Funan era.
Takeo experiences a warm and humid tropical climate, with average temperatures around 27 degrees Celsius. The cool season spans from November to March, while the hot season lasts from March to May.
